Our HB Training Champions represent key topics across the business including health & wellbeing, Welsh language and learning support.

Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion Learning Support Co-Ordinator

Meet Sara our Wellbeing and learning support co-ordinator. Sara offers help and support to our staff and learners with their mental health and wellbeing needs. Sara actively promotes healthy living and wellbeing across HB Training and offers a range of resources and support links available to our students. HB Training have been awarded with the Mental Health Matters Award and are able to support learners throughout their qualifications.

Sara makes sure that HB Training offers a learner centered approach with our teaching delivery methods and we support learners throughout their individual learning journey. If you would like to learn more about what HB Training can do to help support you with your wellbeing or find out more information on the individual learning support available to you, please contact Sara via email sara@hbtraining.org 

Welsh Language & Culture  

Meet Siwan our Welsh Language & Culture Champion. Siwan is a fluent Welsh speaker and is able to offer learners the opportunity to complete their qualifications via the medium of Welsh or Bilingually. Siwan also helps develop the use of the Welsh language with our staff and learners by providing Welsh lessons, resources and activities. Siwan is also a member of The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

Siwan also leads our Criw Cymraeg Committee, a group of learners and employers who come together to generate ideas to further develop the use of the Welsh language within HB Training.

Safeguarding & Prevent

Meet Jackie our Safeguarding & Prevent Champion.  Jackie actively promotes safeguarding and prevent awareness amongst staff and students.  For more information please contact Jackie via email jackie@hbtraining.org

Sign Language & Digital Literacy

Meet Becky our British Sign Language and Digital Literacy Champion. HB Training have been awarded with the Level 2 Disability Confident Award and we aim to remove barriers and support learners with additional learning needs to achieve their qualifications. Becky has a deaf son who has cochlear implants and she encourages the use & importance of sign language across HB Training. Becky helps develop the use of sign language amongst our staff and learners by delivering BSL workshops and providing a range of resources and activities for our students. Becky is also a blogger for The National Deaf Children’s Society and HB Training regularly host fundraising events to help support the charity. Becky also encourages the use of digital resources and helps develop our learners skills and knowledge in the use of digital platforms, while increasing safety and awareness of working in a digital environment. Skills & Competitions

Meet Nicky our skills and competitions champion. Nicky is passionate about stretching and challenging our learners to help them strive to their highest potential. Nicky works with our training team to create in house competitions to encourage our learners to work together and showcase their talents.
