Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

This qualification is designed to support and help you gain employment as a vocational assessor.

You will be enrolled onto the HB Training Teaching & Assessing mentoring programme which will include shadowing our team of expert training consultants in the classroom. You will assist the training consultants in assessing NVQ apprentices and private training learners to gain real life assessing experience. You must be available on Mondays to attend your shadow sessions. 

The course includes 3 units and is ideally suited for those wanting to assess in the work based learning environment.

The three units are:

1. Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practises of Assessment – this covers the theory of assessing only and includes 1 days teaching session and an assignment to complete and hand in to the agreed deadline. The assignment involves research.

2. Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment – this is aimed at those who carry out work based assessments – either using National Occupational Standards, Nationally recognised standards or companies’ own standards

This unit is undertaken over a period of 6 – 12 months

3. Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement – this is aimed at those who may assess outside of the workplace i.e. the classroom or workshop
