The team at HB Training Wales LTD work closely with local employers to design Apprenticeship programmes that take into account specific company requirements and the individual learning style of the apprentice.
We ensure that our training is in line with both national standards and company policy in order to produce skilled and motivated apprentices to contribute to a growing workforce.

Apprentices will learn:

  • Work skills (apprentices complete a set of units to show their competency in the workplace)
  • Technical Skills (apprentices complete tasks to develop their knowledge and understanding)
  • Essential skills for Wales (apprentices develop a broad range of skills relevant to the work place such as communication, numeracy, IT, problem solving and teamwork)

Your requirements as an employer:

  • Issue a Contract of Employment
  • Give a formal induction setting out their role and provide on the job training
  • Work with HB Training to identify how the programme can best meet the needs of your Apprentices and your business: including additional qualifications, employability skills and other support needed
  • Ensure apprentices have opportunities to be assessed when visited by their Training Consultant
  • Ensure your apprentice’s wages meet National Minimum Wages guidelines https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
  • Be available or provide a supervisor/mentor to review the apprentice’s progress with your Training Consultant
  • Provide a safe working environment complying with current Health & Safety legislation
  • Take a full and active role in the skills development of the Apprentice
  • Work with the Apprentice and HB to ensure skills are developed at a pace that suits all partners
  • Release the apprentice to attend HB off the job training days for specific training needs
